TÜV SÜD signs strategic cooperation agreement with CATL, committing to safe development of new energy industry

China/Ningde TÜV SÜD recently entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL), a global leader in the development and manufacturing of lithium-ion batteries. The two parties reached a consensus on overseas market compliance, production safety risk assessment, supply chain management, battery product safety, and sustainable development to advance side by side on the road of healthy and safe development of a new energy industry. 

The strategic cooperation agreement was signed by Mr. Simon Lemin, Industry Service Director of TÜV SÜD Greater China and Mr. He Yusheng, Sourcing Director of CATL. Mr. Zhou Jia, President of CATL, Ms. Zeng Rong, Co-President of CATL Supply Chain, Mr. Ishan Palit, Member of the Board of Management and COO of TÜV SÜD, and Mr. Dirk von Wahl, CEO of TÜV SÜD North Asia, witnessed the signing ceremony of this strategic cooperation.

At the signing ceremony, Dr. Chong Jin, Vice Director of CATL Safety Department, introduced the outcomes of two parties’ past cooperation. Their cooperation began with product certification, and then developed into such fields of safety risk assessment, supply chain management and overseas factory construction. In the preceding cooperation, CATL recognized TÜV SÜD's expertise and services, and hopes to deepen mutual understanding and cooperation by signing this strategic cooperation agreement.
