Midea Awarded TÜV SÜD's First ETSI EN 303 645 V2.1.1 AoC of Dishwasher-type Products 

China/Shenzhen, On December 15, 2020, TÜV SÜD issued its first ETSI EN 303 645 AoC to Midea’s Dishwasher MFD60S970X series. The issuance of this conformity statement indicates that Midea’s dishwasher products meets the requirements of the ETSI EN 303 645 standard in terms of network security and privacy protection, reaches the information security baseline level stipulated by the standard, while helping to enhance consumers’ safety awareness and confidence in the information security of IoT products.

With the continuous development of the Internet of Things (IoT), more and more devices in the home are connected to the internet, thus the cyber security and data privacy of the IoT becomes a growing concern. In June 2020, The European Telecommunication Standards Institute (ETSI) officially released the new standard ETSI EN 303 645 which regulates the cyber security baseline requirements for consumer IoT products such as user privacy protection, primary network attacks prevention etc. The technical standard covers the security requirements of equipment, communications, and personal data protection and is suitable for a wide range of consumer products including IoT gateways, monitors, door locks, televisions and speakers, and household smart appliances.  

As one of the global top suppliers in smart home devices, Midea invited TÜV SÜD to evaluate their MFD60S970X series dishwasher products based on ETSI EN 303 645 V2.1.1. In accordance with the 14 regulations of ETSI EN 303 645 that consist of 13 provisions on cyber security and 1 on data protection, TÜV SÜD conducted comprehensive assessments from product design to application on these dishwashers and finally confirmed them passing all the 33 pcs mandatory requirements and obtaining the EN 303 645 AoC - the first dishwasher-type products certificate issued by TÜV SÜD.
