what is an AGV system?

An AGVS is a floor-based conveyor network with the primary task of transporting materials, both within industrial buildings and across company premises. They consist of the following elements: one or more automated guided vehicles, a master control system, equipment for location determination and position detection, equipment for data transmission, infrastructure, and peripheral equipment.

Testing in accordance with the new ANSI/RIA R 15.08 standard

This also applies to the ANSI/RIA R 15.08 standard, the first standard to organise industrial mobile robots into categories and define the relevant safety requirements.

Testing in accordance with ANSI/RIA R 15.08 determines safety-related factors including motion modes, navigation types, admissible speed and stopping distance. We assess how the mobile robot responds to unexpected obstacles and whether - and how - it avoids collisions. In addition, we verify the robot’s electromagnetic compatibility with other equipment and networks in the vicinity and ensure that its operation is safe across all modes.

All tests related to these and all other requirements of the ANSI/RIA R 15.08 standard are provided by our testing laboratories.
