TÜV SÜD joins hands with Wang Peng’s Lab to expose hidden risks in fascia guns

China/Shenzhen The new program on air aims to expose hidden hazards in the fascia gun. The fascia gun works by breaking down the muscle tension through high-frequency vibrations. It is used by many fitness enthusiasts and office workers. However, consumers often ignore its safety risks due to attractive slogans. To help them strengthen safety awareness and choose qualified product, experts from TÜV SÜD’s Small Household department and Electrical and Electronic Chemical department evaluated and tested four fascia guns according to national and international standards.

The experts conducted professional tests on the four samples. Chemical tests showed the coating, handle and round massage head of four samples exceed PAHs limit in relevant standards. In battery test, it was found there is no protection in the battery of sample 1. Besides, there is a risk of fire in the remaining three samples due to a fault condition in the protective electronic circuit. 

As for glow wire test on battery terminals, none of the samples showed qualified flame retardancy. The experts also revealed that the dangerous moving parts of sample 3 can be touched by a test finger, which may cause clipping injury when used. Consumers can refer to the test results as a shopping guide. While focusing on the efficacy of the fascia gun, safety issues should not be ignored.
