TÜV SÜD Joins Chinese Iron and Steel Industry's EPD Program, Jointly Promoting Green and Low-Carbon Development

TÜV SÜD recently became one of the first third-party verification agencies to join the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) program of the Chinese iron and steel industry. The EPD program will play an important role in facilitating green and low-carbon development and carbon neutrality in the Chinese iron and steel industry. TÜV SÜD experts have rich knowledge and experience to provide EPD verification services in a fair, reliable and credible manner.

EPD is a transparent and comparable environmental information file which internationally recognized. It can help enterprises improve environmental decision-making, quantify environmental performance, break through international trade barriers, and promote green consumption. At the same time, it plays a positive guiding role for downstream enterprises to obtain accurate upstream steel material environmental information, realize green procurement, and formulate carbon reduction routes more scientifically.

Aside from assisting clients to meet the EPD requirements, TÜV SÜD developed VERIX to validate low carbon economy strategies for enterprises and quantify the CO2 reductions.
