TÜV SÜD and HK3C Jointly Hold Workshop on Updates to EU Toy Safety Requirements and UKCA Certification

TÜV SÜD recently teamed up with HK3C Association Ltd. (HK3C), a non-profit that promotes Hong Kong manufacturers to expand into the mainland market and enhance their solidarity, to hold a workshop on updates to EU requirements on toy safety as well as UKCA certification in Hong Kong. Personnel from nearly 100 well-known toy manufacturers and suppliers at home and abroad attended the workshop.

Dr. Ann Kwong, President of HK3C, presented "Cultivating Awareness of Choosing Safe Toys", guiding participants to choose safe toys and read labels on the packaging so as to prevent accidents caused by toys. The sharing fully fulfilled one of the founding tenets of HK3C, i.e., "Care for Chinese Children".

Experts of TÜV SÜD introduced new EU Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC and updated chemical requirements in REACH, POPs and RoHS regulations, particularly the differences between EU and UK in this regard after Brexit about which companies are concerned. They also provided an in-depth analysis of cases and shared solutions, aiming to make attendees understand best practices and essentials for relevant standards, security assessments and compliance requirements.
