TÜV SÜD inaugurates the Building Lifecycle Service Centreat Navanakorn Industrial Zone, Thailand

TÜV SÜD Thailand, a leading certification, testing, auditing, inspection, and training company and the wholly-owned subsidiary of TÜV SÜD Group, Germany, today officially inaugurated its Building Lifecycle Service Centre at Navanakorn Industrial Zone in Pathumthani, Thailand. In the new Service Center building materials are tested in accordance with national and international standards.

The inauguration was officiated by Guests of Honour Asst Prof Watcharin Kasalak, President of the Engineering Institute of Thailand Under His Majesty the King's Patronage, and Dr Pichaya Chantranuwat, President of the Building Inspectors Association (BSA), along with TÜV SÜD executives Mr Niranjan Nadkarni, CEO, TÜV SÜD South Asia, South East Asia, Middle East & Africa Region, Mr Joachim Birnthaler, CEO, Real Estate and Infrastructure Divison, TÜV SÜD AG, Mr Richard Hong See Yen, CEO, TÜV SÜD ASEAN, Mr Klaus Langner, CFO, TÜV SÜD South Asia, South East Asia, Middle East & Africa Region and Mr Kuldhaj Bunbongkarn, General Manager, TÜV SÜD Thailand. 


The Building Lifecycle Service Centre covers an area of 2,250 square metres and offers a range of services, including assessement, engineering, and testing throughout the entire life cycle of building materials. Supported by a dedicated multi-disciplinary team of experts, the facility is the only laboratory with ISO 17025 accreditation in Thailand that is equipped to facilitate fire testing, curtain wall testing and skylight testing. The laboratory is TÜV SÜD's third location in Thailand, the first being at Pathumthani and the second at Chonburi. The TÜV SÜD experts have been serving the safety, quality, security and sustainability requirements of Thailand's real estate and infrastructure industries for over ten years.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr Pichaya Chantranuwat, President of the Building Inspectors Association (BSA), said, "This testing centre is a project that plays an important role in highlighting and strengthening global standards of building materials in Thailand. It will also help to promote infrastructure development and important parts that align with the government's development policy."

Asst Prof Watcharin Kasalak, President of the Engineering Institute of Thailand Under His Majesty the King's Patronage, said, "Our institute has been aiming to support entrepreneurs who produce construction materials and help them to compete in the world arena, it is a great pleasure to see this facility has been invested in and will be able to support these factories to further strengthen their product quality to international standard.”
